US, Israel seek to undermine Pakistani sovereignty
KARACHI: Iran’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff Hassan Firouzabadi stated that the United States and Israel are seeking to undermine Pakistan’s sovereignty.
Chinese news agency Xinhua quoted the Iranian Commander as saying that Americans neglect the basic rights of the Pakistani nation and government and intend to impose (more) capitulation on Pakistan as (they have done in) the last 50 years.
Firouzabadi added that Pakistan has given the US Army its base and has been providing logistic support as well as intelligence sharing, but the US demand from Islamabad to ‘do more’ is unfair and has led to resentment among the Defense and Foreign Ministries of Pakistan.
The US has demanded that its military and auxiliary personnel in Pakistan should be given a status that accords with the technical and administrative staff of the US embassy so that these personnel be allowed to enter and exit Pakistan on mere National Identification i.e without any visas.
The US is also demanding that US criminal jurisdiction should be applicable to their citizens in Pakistan – another demand which has been termed by Pakistani observers as “US yearning for Pak capitulation”, quoted the news agency. –DawnNews
